Perspective

Light is a photographer's best friend. When you're at an assignment and they say they're going to turn the lights out, that usually means it's time to go.

But when David Fisher, a.k.a. The Rope Warrior, picked up a glow-in-the-dark jump-rope at Harrison Street Elementary in Geneva, I figured I could eschew my usual desire for light and ad lib.

Even with an ISO of 1600 and a shutter speed of about two seconds at f2.8, I didn't think I'd see anything but swirly lights, so I was pleasantly surprised to find his ghostly legs in the bottom third of the frame.
