Bike path no good for Elgin

I am very concerned about the Elgin bike path and parking. Evidently no one that said yes lives on the side streets in the affected neighborhoods. The parking is so bad now you can barely back out of your own driveway. It is also very hard to get the streets cleaned or see to cross them safely. Mowing the lawn is even hard because when you get by the street you have to watch out that you don't touch any owner's car or scratch it. There are always cars parked along the street on both sides; now with this bike path, where are all the cars on Walnut going to park?

It was not thought through very well at all, in my opinion. The street sweepers can't clean the streets now. Garbage pickup, at times, more is left in the streets than goes into the trucks. How will it be after the path is built?

Hasn't enough of our money been spent on the failed downtown and now more is going to a bike path that will probably cause more problems than anything else? I have lived in this town for over 55 years and am ashamed to say I live here. I would love to be able to afford to move out. Why isn't more of our money spent on the problems that affect the neighborhoods off the main streets? Can it be because the visitors don't go there unless they get lost?
