Abandoning the politics of the past
Dan Seals sells himself as a champion for change in the same vein as Barack Obama.
His pamphlets have Obama's endorsements featured prominently. He seizes every opportunity to take his picture with Obama and talks about how he wants to be on Barack's team in Congress.
But it seems to me he didn't get the memo about his mentor's message of abandoning the politics of the past.
Listen to Seals speak or go to his Web site and you won't to hear much about his ideas or experience (perhaps because he doesn't have much of either).
What you will hear plenty of is the supposed failings of Mark Kirk. Kirk is responsible for everything from high gas prices to the health care crisis. In fact I have it on good authority from Mr. Seals that every time you catch a red light, Kirk is behind it.
Seals' politics are not the politics of change; his style of negative campaigning and smearing opponents is rooted firmly in the past.
It's time Seals started running a positive campaign. The people of the 10th District are entitled to one.
