Kirk also travels on taxpayers' dime

Tammy Duckworth arriving in a state car without legs. Mark Kirk arriving in a Coast Guard helicopter. Which one is a bigger story? Tammy has fought for our country, Kirk sits in the air-conditioning of the Pentagon, collecting double pension (one for federal service, one for Army service). Real vets know what's going on. Cover it.

Recently, Congressman Mark Kirk wasted precious taxpayer dollars by asking to land a helicopter on open lands in "this pristine area," as he calls his neighborhood. What is the cost of using this aircraft and crew for those ages 10 and under for the Boy Scouts? Especially during the Openlands Project and the Alliance for the Great Lakes "Adopt-a-Beach" program. Spewing gasoline fumes across a beach line for no intent and purposes is just showing off pre-election! Why did Kirk need a helicopter to land when supposedly he lives right next door? Or was he jettisoning in from D. C.?

To make matters worse, the U.S. Coast Guard will analyze the trash we collected to determine its source. I've done a beach clean up before. Cigarette butts come from smokers and pop tabs from cans. No wonder this mortgage bailout is costing so much.
