Kirk is independent, despite Seals' claims

For months now, Dan Seals has been arguing, despite all evidence, that Congressman Mark Kirk is a "clone" of President Bush.

In their editorial endorsing Kirk, the Sun Times discredits this line of attack, saying: "despite what his opponent would have you believe, he [Kirk] is anything but a clone of President Bush."

While I'd like to hope that Seals will now drop this ridiculous line of attack, people telling him that he is wrong has not stopped him before.

Seals kept singing his "Kirk is Bush" song when Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence all endorsed Kirk.

He stuck to his story when the Washington Post said Kirk is the 8th most independent congressman in the entire House of Representatives, and when the Daily Herald named him Mr. Independent.

He seems unwilling to admit the truth: that Kirk is independent.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but they are not entitled to their own facts.
