Incumbents keep Arlington Hts. library seats

Two incumbents and newcomer Charles Drost won seats on the Arlington Heights Memorial Library board Tuesday.

Drost and incumbent Kerry Pearson won six-year terms, according to unofficial tallies with 82 of 83 precincts counted. Unsuccessful challenger Frank J. Biga had questioned safety near the library and said the library's Internet filters were inadequate. Incumbent Deborah Nelson won a two-year term over Dawn E. Walter. Vote tallies were Drost, 6,221; Pearson, 5,802; and Biga 3,371. In the two-year race, Nelson had 5,689 and Walter had 2,744.
