St. Charles Public Library notes

Four free seminars on avoiding financial missteps and improving your financial future will be presented from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following Wednesdays at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave., St. Charles.

• "Credit Matters" on June 17: A guide to understanding and improving your credit score. Understand how to build your credit and manage debt. Learn how your credit score impacts many areas of your life. This program is presented in cooperation with Harris Bank, St. Charles.

• "Home Seeker Seminar" on July 1: Learn the steps to homeownership. This free class will help first time buyers and others avoid the pitfalls that plunged so many current homeowners into crisis. This program is presented in cooperation with Harris Bank, St. Charles.

• "Foreclosure Prevention" on July 22: Learn what you can do to avoid foreclosure. Avoid scam artists. Learn about the Making Home Affordable program. Learn about your options in this current economic climate. Explore resources to help prevent foreclosure. This program is presented in cooperation with Harris Bank, St. Charles.

• "Dispelling the Myths and Misinformation Regarding Bankruptcy" on Aug. 5: Presented by local Attorney John Biallas.

In these free seminars, you will learn from the experts, get your financial questions answered, and learn to make informed decisions.

You do not need a library card to attend any of the programs. Sign-up is requested, but not required, in person at the library's Information Services Desk or by calling (630) 584-0076, ext. 1.
