Cook Memorial library board shuffles leadership

The Cook Memorial Public Library Board's ongoing game of musical chairs continued Tuesday night when Bonnie Quirke was named president of the panel.

Quirke, who had been selected to serve as vice president this spring, replaces Aaron Lawlor in the top slot. Lawlor resigned as president and from the board last week when he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Lake County Board.

Quirke's promotion left the vice president's chair open - but not for long. Board member Wendy Vieth was named to the post Tuesday.

Although the leadership posts have been filled, Lawlor's former seat on the panel remains vacant. The board must appoint someone from the community to the job.
