Late payments big problem for business

While legislators try to fix this big financial mess, there are little businesses like ours just holding their breath.

Although The Illinois Department of Human Services is thankful we can provide care - at a reduced rate - we sit here worrying that we will not receive our funding on time due to budget restrictions. Approximately 42 percent of our income comes from IDHS.

The banks have cut back on small business lines of credit so the escape hole we had developed for late payments from the state has slipped away. We need that money, on time.

How do we get the legislators to understand? This is not the first time the state has done this to us, but this is an unusual economic climate.
