McVay rolls perfect 300 at Wood Dale Bowl

At this rate, girls high school bowlers ought to be flocking to Wood Dale Bowl.

About two weeks ago, Elk Grove sophomore Ashley Dolce rolled a 300 game during at invitational hosted by Fenton at Wood Dale Bowl.

On Wednesday, Buffalo Grove sophomore Mariah McVay repeated the feat as the Bison defeated host Fenton 2,709-2,383 in a nonconference dual.

McVay found perfection on her first game of what turned out to be a stellar 741 series.

"Funny thing is, that first game was with a brand new ball," said Fenton coach Lee Cassidy. "First time out of the bag, and she rolls 300. Amazing."

Dolce's perfect game was only the second by a female in the 48-year history of Wood Dale Bowl.

McVay and sophomore teammate Molly Jackson lead the Bison, coached by Jean Tripam, into Saturday's Mid-Suburban League championships at AMF Lanes in Rolling Meadows.
