Fire signs Kryzsztof Krol

The Fire's busy off-season continued Wednesday when the team announced the signing of Polish defender Kryzsztof Krol.

Krol, who will take the left back spot vacated by Gonzalo Segares, is transferring on loan from Jagiellonia Biallystok.

The signing of Krol, 22, follows the signing of right midfielder Julio Martinez and new coach Carlos de los Cobos earlier this month. The Fire also picked up four young players in the MLS SuperDraft, including top pick Corben Bone.

The Fire probably isn't done yet. The team is working to finalize a deal with forward Collins John, who played with Brian McBride at Fulham.

The players are scheduled to report next week to begin preseason training. The season opens March 27 at New York.
