Webb brings three essential attributes

This past year many of our perennially elected/appointed national officials and some of our own state officials have been ethical disappointments. Brad Webb, candidate for DuPage County Board, is new to the political arena and hasn't built up a litany of favors to pay back. Instead, he has spent his adult years selflessly giving his time and considerable talents to various volunteer groups who have benefited from his legal and accounting background.

He has been a member of St. Petronille Parish for over 40 years, served on the boards of Wheaton Bank & Trust, Benet Academy, the University of St. Francis, and was president of the Glen Ellyn Economic Development Corp.

Brad has sound, fiscally conservative ideals and supports keeping taxes low and business regulations at a minimum. He feels the county board members should lead by example and cut their own salary first, then make sure that the rest of the monies being spent are used wisely for effective programs throughout the county. His experience with monitoring systems as controller/corporate counsel at Packey Webb Ford prepares him to better measure and monitor the effectiveness of the County programs.

Brad earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa where he was captain of a Rose Bowl football team. A job recruiter once told me why he liked to hire college athletes who graduate. They possess three essential attributes - competitiveness, time-management skills and the ability to function as a member of a team. Brad exemplifies all of these attributes. He will fight for what is best for the citizens of DuPage County; he will accomplish his goals in an expedient, efficient fashion; and he will work tirelessly with all groups and consider many viewpoints before rendering his thoughtful opinions.
