Arlington Heightsbull; Eldon A. Rivelli, 27, of the 800 block of Pahl Road, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 1 a.m. Feb. 18 on the 1400 block of West Algonquin Road and charged with felony aggravated unlawful use and possession of a weapon without a firearm owner's ID, resisting and battery of a police officer, and possession of marijuana. Rivelli, a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation, ran from the car, tossed a 45-caliber pistol over a fence and dropped a bag of marijuana before officers caught him, police said. He hit an officer in the chest during the arrest, reports said. Feb. 15 at the park district facility, 235 Lions Drive, and stole a purse containing credit cards, prescription eyeglasses, cosmetics, gift cards, wallet and $40. Value was estimated at $450. Someone used a credit card at Jewel in Barrington at 7:32 p.m. and a debit card at Staples. Total charges were estimated at $656.Des Plainesbull; Samuel M. Sullivan, 30, of the 100 block of South Ash, Palatine, was arrested around 5:10 p.m. Feb. 21 at JJ Tire, 969 S. Lee St., and charged with battery and resisting a peace officer. Reports said he punched a 43-year-old male employee in the chin and struggled with officers during the arrest. An officer used a Taser to subdue him because he refused to walk into the holding cell and braced his legs against doorways and walls, police said. bull; Peter V. Tolstyk, 20, of the 2700 block of Idaho Road, Naperville, was arrested around 11 p.m. Feb. 19 after a traffic stop on the 1200 of Rand Road and charged with traffic violations and possession of marijuana. Hardy, 25, of the 400 block of Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested Feb. 14 after a traffic stop at Route 14 and Palatine Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. One male offender talked his way into the home, telling the male homeowner he was there to check his chimney for snow clogs, and convinced him to go to the basement for a bucket of water. This offender stalled the victim in the basement until his accomplice shouted from upstairs, reports said. The two men left with the jewelry. The victim's wife was not home at the time, and she discovered the theft when she returned.bull; Thieves stole a red 1995 Toyota Celica in an apartment lot on the 1500 block of Heather Court between 10 a.m. Feb. 14 and 5 p.m. Feb. 15.
