Piece of block 'M' stolen from Michigan Stadium
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's ground game has taken another hit.
University of Michigan police are seeking suspects after someone cut a piece of the block 'M' from the football field at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
U-M Police spokeswoman Diane Brown said a 6-inch by 4-foot piece of the artificial turf was taken from the stadium between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Monday. She said the stadium is locked during weekends.
Brown estimated damage at about $1,000.
The iconic stadium has been undergoing a $226 million renovation. Construction began the day after the Wolverines lost at Ohio State in November 2007 and is expected to be completed by June.
