FBI captures woman on Chicago most-wanted list
Chicago's most wanted list now has only nine members.
Three days after the non-profit Chicago Crime Commission released its list of 10 Most Wanted fugitives, the FBI arrested the compilation's lone woman.
Authorities say 51-year-old Sherry Halligan was arrested after someone recognized her from media coverage of the list and called the FBI.
Halligan vanished in 2004 after being charged in a 2003 murder. She was arrested without incident Friday in suburban Palos Hills.
It wasn't immediately clear if Halligan has legal representation.
Arthur Bilek, the commission's executive vice president, says the group is pleased and looks forward to more successes.
The list includes gangsters, alleged killers and a police officer accused of shaking down drug dealers.
