Del Webb's Grand Dominion builds a lifestyle along with homes

Six furnished and decorated model homes offer a visual feast for visitors at Grand Dominion, a new Del Webb active-adult community with amenities galore situated in north suburban Mundelein.

The community's focal point is its 13-acre Lake Dominion along with Lakeside Lodge, a world-class recreational facility with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and state-of-the-art fitness center. Outdoor activities include tennis and bocce ball. A lifestyle director will coordinate outings, clubs, and social and recreational events.

Located on Route 176 west of Route 60/83, the community is set on 320 rolling acres of land with 100 acres of open space and miles of walking and biking paths that wind through the neighborhoods.

Grand Dominion offers four series of ranch-style homes including two brand new floor plans - Sullivan and Deerfield with open layouts and three-car tandem garages. Monthly association fees range from $155 to $181 depending on the home series.

"Grand Dominion offers residents the opportunity to have a healthy mind, body and spirit, which is the essence of all Del Webb communities," said Chris Naatz, vice president of sales and marketing for the Illinois division of Pulte Homes.

"It has fantastic amenities both in the homes and outdoors. A beautiful natural lake is the hub of the community with walking trails throughout. And it's in a fantastic location across from two golf courses. It's a whole package."

All six models showcase Pulte's Signature Standards - features included in the purchase price of the home.

Part of the Manor series, Wyldwood is priced from $261,990 and features 1,551 square feet, two bedrooms, two baths and two-car attached garage.

This design shows a traditional interior with hardwood floors and a teal, cream and chocolate color scheme.

Off the foyer, a handsome den with an equestrian theme displays prized jumper trophies. This quiet spot in the front of the home makes it convenient to work from home and meet with clients.

The open living-dining room features a cream sofa and love seat, lots of artwork and teal draperies with a floral swag. This is a cozy spot for conversation before dinner.

The dining table is set with chocolate and teal place settings and a candle centerpiece. A large wrought iron framed mirror and credenza topped with decorative accessories finishes off the room.

A half wall separates the more formal space from the kitchen, breakfast nook and family room in the rear of the home. This open space allows for casual entertaining as shown with hors d'oeuvres offered at the island and breakfast table, and there's plenty of room to mix and mingle, spilling out to the garden room and patio.

The wallpapered kitchen features black appliances, wood cabinetry topped with Corian, pantry and center island. The family room is the gathering spot for watching TV. This model shows the optional garden room with walls of windows and access to the patio.

In the master suite, geometric print wallpaper covers the wall behind the bed. The room includes a bay window, woven chair and walk-in closet. The bath features a raised vanity with dual sinks, walk-in shower with grab bar and shelves for bath essentials.

The second bedroom with movie theme is served by the full hall bath. A laundry room sits off the garage entry.

The Highland model, part of the Shoreline series, is priced from $365,990 and features 2,238 square feet, two bedrooms, two baths and two-car attached garage.

This home features a touch of Tuscany with a chocolate, terra cotta and gold palette.

Off the foyer, the front den with golf motif features a mural covering an entire wall that is so picturesque, it might entice homeowners to grab their golf clubs and head out to the course.

With the ambience of a trattoria, the kitchen includes a GE Profile appliance package, 42-inch cherry cabinets, Zodiaq Quartz countertops, center island and pantry. The breakfast nook includes a desk for planning menus and running the household tucked in a corner niche, while a table set for six looks out the front window.

With a great room layout, homeowners will enjoy entertaining in this home, as there's plenty of wine and space for guests. The dining table along with the breakfast bar can be set up for a buffet.

On the other hand, for quiet evenings at home, an angled furniture arrangement allows for easy viewing of the plasma TV.

The master suite features a tray ceiling, bay window and soft luxurious fabrics, perfect for rest and relaxation. The bath features split sinks with vanity, tub and walk-in shower with grab bar, private commode and two walk-in closets.

The second bedroom with a sailing theme is decorated with a wallpaper border and day bed topped with pillows. This room is served by the hall bath. The laundry room sits off the garage entry.
