Holiday Melodies & Memories at the Antioch Library

While there are many holiday programs happening this season you won't want to miss two special events at the Antioch Public Library District. On Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m., Phil Passen will bring his beautiful sounds of the dulcimer in a showcase of traditional and modern melodies. Songs celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, and the winter solstice will be preformed.

The following Sunday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. the library will once again welcome back "Those Were the Days Radio Players of Lake County." Each December the "Radio Players" present an old-time radio broadcast play, sound effect included, which is holiday themed. This is a wonderful program for school age children through adult and is a true look back on what family evening entertainment was like before TV and video games.

Both performances are free to the public but do require preregistration. You may go online to the library event calendar at www.apld.info or call 847-395-0874, ext. 230 to sign-up.

The Antioch Public Library is located at 757 N. Main St., just one block north of the historic downtown district on Hwy. 83.
