Metropolis puts on 'Frindle' Feb. 12

Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St. in Arlington Heights, will present "Frindle" at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.

School prankster Nick Allen has just landed himself in the toughest fifth-grade teacher's class. And if Mrs. Granger has anything to say about it, his days as a troublemaker are at an end. That is until she teaches her class about the origin of words and Nick decides to make a word of his own: frindle. His word spreads like wildfire, catching on in his class, then throughout his school and even out into the town, all while Mrs. Granger tries to stop it.

It's a fun story about imagination, creativity and the power of words. Recommended for grades 4-8
