Dream Foundation seeks help to win Pepsi grant

The Passages Hospice Dream Foundation is asking for public support as a potential recipient of a $250,000 grant by the Pepsi Refresh project.

The Passages Hospice Dream Foundation project aims to fulfill unmet wishes and improve quality of life for hospice patients, and to and give families an opportunity to spend quality time together. The Dream Foundation works locally to support communities and families experiencing the challenges at the end of a loved one's life.

In 2010, the Dream Foundation fulfilled more than 70 dreams, including celebrity meet-and-greets, family reunions, sports games, vow renewal ceremonies, classic car rides, and birthday parties. The Pepsi Refresh grant would provide the funding for more than five times as many Dreams.

Grant winners are chosen by a popular vote, and two grants are awarded at the $250,000 level monthly.

Supporters can vote once each day by texting the code 105609 to the number 73774 or registering at www.refresheverything.com and searching for “Passages Hospice Foundation”. Voting is open through Jan. 31.
