I believe our village is the best place to live in the entire Chicagoland area. I am here for the long term. I have the time to dedicate to the position.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Just right. We don't have any.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.Traffic control. There have been various proposal from traffic lights to village stickers. All avenues need to be looked at in order to preserve the rural nature of our village and it's roads.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The current board has done a good job at cost cutting through economies of scale i.e. garbage removal and by putting municipal contracts out to bid. We need to keep looking for new ways to cut expenses as every dollar you don't spend is a dollar you don't have to tax.We might need to increase police presence to control traffic and keep a closer eye on village residences.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?If the money is available it would be nice to build a multiuse structure for equestrian and recreational uses of village residents, especially in the winter.
