Sherman Auxiliary to host Benefit Ball March 5

The 47th annual Sherman Hospital Auxiliary Benefit Ball, "A Toast to Growth and Success," will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center. Proceeds from the event will go towards the auxiliary's $1 million goal to support the Birthing Center at Sherman Hospital.

The black-tie optional event will feature cocktails, dinner, and dancing to the music of the Al Sofia Orchestra.

Honorees for this year's ball are the entire Sherman Hospital medical staff, and extending a special welcome to all new physicians.

Raffle tickets, which are available for purchase in the gift shop at Sherman Hospital or at the ball, are $25 each or five for $100.

This year's raffle will have six prizes, each valued at least at $1,000 and purchasers may select which prize or prizes they would like to have a chance to win. Prizes include a one-week, two-bedroom luxury condo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; a triple strand of white South Sea pearls with middle jade accents; a Windy City package, including an overnight stay for two at the Four Seasons Hotel, dinner at Gibson's Steakhouse and four tickets for a Chicago Cubs game; $1,000 cash; a case of 2007 award-winning cabernet sauvignon wine from Garric Cellars; or a movie package including a Warner Brothers sign, autographed by Matt Damon, a Matt Damon movie collection, a gift certificate for the Village Roadshow Gold Class Cinemas in the Barrington Arboretum and Blu-ray DVD player.

Ball reservations are $175 per person.
