Glad Cruisers found a home in Palatine
I wasn’t aware this (Rolling Meadows Cruisers Car Club) classic car show had lost its home in Rolling Meadows, but nonetheless, was thrilled to hear that Palatine approved its relocation to the former Menards parking lot on Rand Road.
Thanks to Culver’s restaurant and the Palatine council for supporting and approving the new location. Myself, with friends and family, have enjoyed browsing this particular car show, for several summers ... a great way to enjoy a summer Friday evening. We’ve met wonderful owners and collectors, and have viewed some awesome classic cars.
I chuckle reading the Palatine council concerns that this might be a “showcase for cars out of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ movies”. If you’ve attended these shows, you’d see that the majority of “attendees” are adult enthusiasts, with their kids in tow. Many of us are reliving what we had, what we should have hung onto and what we miss. And those who own these vintage cars are, most likely, beyond the fast and furious ... they’re proud to showcase their collectible; and yes, they’ve reached an envious point where they can afford to keep, and/or buy and restore these vintage cars.
Am hoping this new location works out successfully and that Palatine extends a warm welcome to the Rolling Meadows Cruisers Car Club. These classic car owners have participated in an overall top notch vintage car show, which my family and I have enjoyed attending.
