Elgin Genealogical Society meets April 21

The Elgin Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21 in the first-floor meeting room of Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove, Elgin.

After a brief meeting, Oriene Springstroh and Dr. Gary Hargis will present "Belonging to a Writing Group: Good for Your Health and Good for Your Genealogy."

Have you been wanting to write about your ancestors and all those family stories? Do you want to put all that research information into interesting narratives?

The program will include a discussion on how to begin a group, the organizational guidelines and how to be successful.
