Your news Des Plaines firefighters go bald for a good cause

Members of the Des Plaines Professional Firefighters Local 4211 recently participated in a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a “volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.”

A total of $12,500 was raised at the fundraising event held at the Chicago City Limits, Schaumburg, with the Des Plaines Fire Department Team raising more than $2,000.

The evening culminated with several Des Plaines firemen having their heads shaved as part of the fundraiser. Twelve Des Plaines firemen and their families attended.
