Lakes 12, Wauconda 2: Kim Olson belted a grand slam, as the Eagles defeated the Bulldogs in five innings for the second straight day.
Shannon Cooley fanned four and didn’t walk a batter, helping Lakes improve to 3-1 in the North Suburban Prairie.
Cooley and Jasmine Rivera each had 2 hits, including a double. Jamie Dykstra went 2-for-3.
Cara Nance was 2-for-3 for Wauconda.
Grayslake North 5, Woodstock North 4: Brianna Leon homered, Brooke Tracy went 2-for-3, and the Knights won the Fox Valley Conference game.
Winning pitcher Kristina Gandy struck out eight. Nikki Livengood added a single and an RBI for Grayslake North, and Jordyn Bowen also contributed a single.
Mundelein 7, Warren 2: Deanna Wise was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Hillary Bunnelle and Chloe Peterson both had 2 hits for the Mustangs in the North Suburban Lake contest.
Wise, Bunnelle and Peterson (2 RBI) all doubled. Bunnelle picked up the win, striking out five in a complete-game performance.
Mundelein improved to 3-6.
Stevenson 12, Lake Forest 0: Morgan Manka doubled twice and finished 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Patriots in the North Suburban Lake game.
Stevenson (7-3, 4-2) received 2 hits apiece from Heather Cohen (3 runs, RBI), Lara Horwitz (double, 2 RBI) and Bridget Poetker (run, RBI).
Kat Trotter pitched a 5-inning 3-hit shutout.
Cary-Grove 3, Lake Zurich 2: The Trojans scored all of their runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the nonconference game.
Lake Zurich (8-4) was paced by Paige Goldberg, who went 3-for-3 with a stolen base. Megan Mattera yielded 2 earned runs in taking the loss. She struck out seven and allowed 4 hits.
Johnsburg 5, Grayslake Central 3: Claire Brennan was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Rams in their Fox Valley Conference loss.
Rachel Perkowitz and Caitlin Flary each had a single, run and an RBI for Grayslake Central. Anna Strickland singled and scored, as well.
Carmel splits with JCA: Kelley Dodge’s go-ahead RBI single in the sixth lifted the Corsairs to a 5-4 win in Game 1 of the East Suburban Catholic Conference doubleheader.
Kathleen Felicelli homered twice for Carmel, while fellow freshman Amy Abel also went deep and had 2 hits.
Joliet Catholic won the nightcap 6-0, dropping Carmel to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the ESCC.
Madeline Felipez and Abel each had 2 hits for the Corsairs.
