Geneva High holds PSAE open house activities
On Wednesday, April 27, the Geneva High School's Physical Education, Health, and Driver's Education Department hosted an open house for all junior students prior to the Illinois State mandatory Prairie State Achievement Exam.
The open house included a variety of activities to encourage the junior class to exercise before their PSAE Tests in order to relieve some stress and to increase their heart rate, and blood flow. Studies show that physical activity improves brain activity and information retrieval to help boost test scores.
All staff members were welcomed to come and join the activities, and many did. There were over 250 junior students that voluntarily participated in volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, badminton, yoga, running/walking, and weightlifting.
The participants were engaged in activity from 6:30-7:15 a.m., and then were treated to a free, healthy breakfast before they began testing.
