Ttowa restaurant opens in downtown Arlington Heights

Ttowa, a restaurant offering contemporary Korean food with a French twist in both flavor and presentation, is now open in downtown Arlington Heights.

The restaurant’s menu features “mandoo” — Korean dumplings — complimented by homemade dipping sauces. Selections include traditional style mandoos with beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp or, for vegetarians, mandoos stuffed with shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and an assortment of other vegetables

Main entrees feature chicken, pork, and beef, such as marinated short ribs with traditional vegetable rice porridge. Ttowa’s Kimbop Bar integrates Korean flavors and ingredients into sushi rolls.

“Korean food has so much to offer the world with our unique dishes and flavors. Here at Ttowa, we educate our patrons and provide a comfortable dining experience with great food, music, and service,” said Executive Chef Dong Ju Park, who has over 15 years of restaurant experience. The previous owner of Ttowa Dumpling House in Morton Grove, Ill., Chef Dong Ju also worked as a baker in Germany, Korea, and the U.S. Ttowa is located at 161 West Wing St., between Davis Street and Vail Avenue. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and closed on Sunday. Entrees range from $9.00 to $19.00 with appetizers ranging from $5.00 to $8.00.
