Compete in Chicago Marathon with American Cancer Society

The 2011 Chicago Marathon on October 9 may be sold out, but limited entries are still available until June 30 through the event's charity partner, the American Cancer Society.

By joining the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation program, Marathon athletes can dedicate their training and participation in the event to the fight against cancer and raise critically needed funds to help the Society expand cancer research and support those facing cancer.

For more information about how to join the growing American Cancer Society DetermiNation Chicago Marathon team, visit acsDetermiNation.org/Illinois.

Whether a first-time competitor or a seasoned athlete, DetermiNation participants can meet the personal challenge of endurance events with an unparalleled community of support and inspiration every step of the way. DetermiNation participants enjoy exclusive training and day-of-race benefits including mentors for fundraising success and inspiration, free team training to help achieve race goals, invitations to social events, race-weekend VIP amenities (including gear check, private bathrooms, coaches along every mile of the race, and much more), an exclusive DetermiNation racing singlet and a personal Web site to aid with fundraising.

Participants can also take part in other DetermiNation events including the XSport Fitness Rock ‘n' Roll Half Marathon as well as 5K races and destination events.

Thanks to DetermiNation participants and the funds they raise, the American Cancer Society is more prepared to help people stay well through education initiatives on the importance of early detection and prevention; get well with programs and services offered at no charge to patients and their families; find cures by expanding and funding cancer research; and fight back by working to pass life-saving laws.
