Call for Artists, Parade Applicants, Food Vendors and Mexican Handcrafts for West Chicago's Mexican Independence Day Celebration

West Chicago, Illinois: June 8, 2011 - Downtown West Chicago will be hosting the City's annual Mexican Independence Day Parade and Celebration on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 12:00 – 9:00 p.m. Organized by City staff and community volunteers, the event schedule will showcase and celebrate the rich traditions of Mexico's people, history and culture through music, dance, food and more.

Currently the focus is on attracting artists, parade applicants, food vendors and Mexican handcrafts. Booth space is available at minimal cost, with no charge for not-for-profit organizations. Applications for vendor space and parade entries are available at www.westchicago.org under Forms, or by calling Valeria Lopez at (630) 293-2200 x170. Space is limited and the deadline for vendor applications is August 18, 2011. A slide-show of the 2010 event may also be viewed on the website.
