Story a good lesson about humanity

Thank you so much for Eric Peterson’s story, “Left without a home.”

The story broke my heart and gave me continued empathy for those who just need a little extra “hand up” and not a “hand out.”

Do I want to see the likes of the Paula Pedersens of the world on the street? Of course not. I want to see people able to live in their own home and try to make a better life for themselves.

It begs the question, “Am I willing to have a Paula Pedersen in my neighborhood?”

We must never abandon our compassion and humanity. Thank you, Daily Herald, for keeping us aware of those who are on the edges of our society, about to fall off the cliff.
