Your news Music of 1950s and ‘60s comes alive at Indian Trails Library

The 1950s and ‘60s are often thought of as a golden age in popular music. Edizon Dayao will bring the hits from Broadway and the early days of rock ‘n’ roll to life again at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Indian Trails Public Library, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling.

Dayao brings his singing and keyboard talents to private and public groups throughout the Chicago area, Wisconsin and Indiana. He has performed as many as 700 concerts annually and has been recognized publicly for the enormous compassion he demonstrates through his musical performances for the aged, sick, and elderly. He makes weekly appearances at various Chicago nursing, rehab, health care facilities and hospitals, providing musical programs that rekindle lost memories and bring joy to the hearts of so many elderly.

For these and other entertainment projects, Dayao was awarded the 2006 “Hall of Fame Award in Music and Entertainment” by the monthly Filipino Via Times News Magazine and the Chicago Philippine Reports (CPRTV).

Registration is required. To register or obtain more information about the program, call the library at (847) 459-4100.
