Submitted by Cary Lions Club
Cary Lions Club is sponsoring a Bags Tournament from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Sideouts Bar and Eatery in Island Lake.
The two-person teams will compete in this round-robin tournament with each team guaranteed a minimum of four games with a 40 percent payout in prize money to winning teams. Raffle tickets for a 50/50 Split the Pot and door prizes will be sold.
Registration is $25 per person and may be accepted at the door if space is available, but advance registration is recommended to guarantee participation and to receive five free door prize tickets.
All profits will be donated to Sage House, in Cary, a 24-hour therapeutic group home for children ages 6-22 who are diagnosed with severe autism.
Sage House embraces an eclectic range of therapies and instruction on an individual basis. As every person is unique, they build on each client’s strengths and focus on goals for that individual. They use real learning experiences to teach self-help skills, communication skills and choice making with a high value on providing clients with opportunities for social integration and recreation that are typical for individuals their age.
