Be the Studio Executive at the CNGM 2012 Insider, "Hat's Off to Characters"

Are you tired of seeing the same movies rehashed, remade or re-released? Wouldn't it be nice if you had a voice in deciding which films should be made? CNGM Pictures cordially invites you to put on your Studio Executive hat at the CNGM 2012 Insider, a “Hats Off to Characters” extravaganza on Saturday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. Come join the fun at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center (150 E. Wood Street) in Palatine for an evening of entertainment, raffles, gourmet hor d'oeurves, wine, beer and other tasty beverages. Guests are also encouraged to wear their favorite hat, as part of the evening's theme!

Over the past year, the local production company has been working on two documentaries that each focus on Chicago-area artists. The first, entitled “Cheers Man, Thanks” follows Palatine native actor and musician, Dennis Florine. Filmmakers Tony Schiavone and Michael P. Noens have been following Florine for almost 18 months from show to show and gathering intimate details on how he manages his time between his marriage, his friends, his life as an actor and his life as a touring musician.

Just this past September, CNGM Pictures began producing the feature-length documentary, “The Nefarious Octavarius”. Octavarius is a high-octane, critically-acclaimed comedy group based in Chicago and has been voted #1 in the Chicago Reader in 2011. The focus of the project has been to explore and fully understand the Octavarius mission of promoting and demonstrating how fun is everywhere. What makes this comedy group so unique is that they are made up of ten key members who all share the stage at the same time. For most groups this big, it becomes far too overwhelming, but Octavarius is known for making it appear seamless.

In addition to seeing these exclusive, never-before-seen sneak peeks from 2011, the company's producers and directors will stand before the audience to pitch their ideas for 2012. In playing the part of their Studio Executive for the evening, the organization will need your help to pick the project you believe in most. Following your selection (or selections), you'll receive exclusive updates on the progress of that project including photos, videos and even VIP screening passes.

One of the most exciting projects the company will begin production on beginning this January is a trans-media project called, “I Made America”. The project will tell the story of six founding fathers (Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison) who have been ripped from their own time to be used as campaign props in the impending 2012 election. Unfortunately for their handlers, the founding fathers disagree with everyone in contemporary politics and after a few fights and one too many practical jokes, their handlers cut them off, leaving them penniless, unemployed and alone in Chicago. For more information about the project, visit www.imadeamerica.com.

As if all these different projects weren't enough, CNGM Pictures is also the host of the annual Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, which is heading into its third year in 2012. Find out how you can get involved with the festival and help bring new, exciting independent films to Palatine.

The best part is that any contribution made towards the projects presented at the November 12th event will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law, as CNGM Pictures is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to producing and exhibiting independent films.
