DuPage Dodge Chrysler Jeep to build $5.9 dealership in Glendale Heights
DuPage Dodge set to build new facility
GLENDALE HEIGHTS — DuPage Dodge Chrysler Jeep broke ground this week on a new dealership being built along North Avenue.
The dealership will relocate from its current home at 800 E. Roosevelt Road in Wheaton into the new building as soon as May, said Andy Davis, DuPage Dodge general manager.
DuPage Dodge has leased the Wheaton site for several years, he said.
The new dealership will be built on six acres on the southeast corner of North and Western avenues. The land has been vacant for about 15 years.
The $5.9 million building was designed by Interwork Architects, based in Northbrook, and will be constructed by Charles River Development, Crystal Lake.
“Our biggest improvement is going to be in the service department,” Davis said. The new building will have more service lifts and several “quick lube” lanes for oil changes.
DuPage Dodge owner John Kaye closed on a construction loan earlier this month. The project is also receiving assistance in the form of Tax Increment Financing and sales tax rebates from the village of Glendale Heights.
