Carter leads Round Lake with milestone effort
Round Lake senior guard Juddon Carter needed 19 points heading into Friday night’s home game against Wauconda to become the boys basketball’s team all-time leading scorer.
He left no doubt about it.
Carter scored a season-high 35 points — two off his career-best total — leading Round Lake to a 58-51 win in North Suburban Prairie Division action.
Carter sank six 3-pointers and went 11 of 13 from the foul line, giving him 1,352 career points and vaulting past Bill Swieton (1,335) on the Panthers’ all-time scoring list.
Mark Jennings added 9 points for Round Lake (6-14, 2-7).
Wauconda (9-13, 2-7) received 13 points apiece from Kyle Ryan and Matt Mead. The loss was the Bulldogs’ fifth in a row.
Marist 51, Carmel 38: Brandon Motzel scored 15 points for the host Corsairs, who fell to 7-10 and 1-3 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
