Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training seminar comes to South Elgin

On Saturday, Aug. 25, Budokan Martial Arts of South Elgin, 959 N. La Fox St., will welcome coach Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros, a third-degree black belt, to teach a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training seminar from 2 to 5 p.m.

The Budokan will be hosting this seminar to introduce Coach Comprido to the Budokan members and others interested in this martial art. This is the first time that a seminar taught by a renowned BJJ Black Belt will be held in the South Elgin area.

Learn from one of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s highly decorated competitors of the world. Comprido’s bio includes seven-time World Champion, two-time Absolute Champion, Brasa Team Leader, and Jiu-Jitsu Coach of MMA’s champions Brock Lesnar and Demian Maia.

Training will include basic through advanced groundwork maneuvers. If you are a current Budokan member, BJJ fan or a serious fighter, you are more than welcome to join the event. The seminar is suitable for all skill levels, ages, genders and experience.

The cost for adults is $75 if prepaid by Aug. 1; $85 by Aug. 24, or $95 at the door. The cost for youth under age 18 is $35 by Aug. 24; $40 at the door.
