SUV crashes into Capentersville house

A Carpentersville man crashed his SUV into one car and then drove through the wall of a house home Sunday morning, severely damaging the house but causing no injuries.

It occurred at 9:49 a.m. on the 1700 block of Kingston Circle.

Sergio Rayes, 20, of the 1900 block of Bristol Circle, had a blood alcohol level of 0.257 percent, more than three times the legal threshold, according to police. He was charged with multiple counts of driving under the influence and other traffic violations.

Rayes hit a car at the corner of Kingston Circle and Wakefield Drive, before crashing into the house, police said. After he hit the house, he was seen throwing two beer bottles over a fence, police said. When police arrived, they arrested him.

He faces three counts of driving under the influence, two counts of driving without insurance, driving on a suspended license, improper lane usage and failure to report an accident.

His next court date is June 28 in Kane County.
