Former Libertyville mayor honored:

Former Libertyville Mayor Duane Laska will have a park named after him, the village board agreed on Tuesday. Based on a recommendation from the village board’s parks and recreation committee, the informally designated Cambridge Knoll park on Garfield Avenue will be renamed in honor of the former two-term mayor, who served from 1997 to 2005. Four other two-term mayors, Charles Brown (1965-1973), Gilbert Stiles (1973-1981), Paul Neal (1981-1989) and Jo Ann Eckmann 1989-1997) also have parks names after them. Signs will be prepared and a dedication scheduled.
