Finalists named for Lake County associate judge position

Two finalists have been named for the associate judge vacancy in the 19th Judicial Circuit created by the appointment of George Bridges to circuit judge.

Lake County Circuit Chief Judge Fred Foreman has certified the names of Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Christen L. Bishop and attorney Elizabeth M. Rochford to the director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.

Now, the Administrative Office will prepare ballots containing the finalists’ names and mail them to all Lake County circuit judges, Foreman said.

Each circuit judge will cast a secret ballot and, after the votes have been tabulated in Springfield, the director will notify Foreman of the results.

Rochford, of Lake Forest, is a sole practitioner in Lake County. Bishop, also of Lake Forest, is chief of juvenile and special investigations in the state’s attorney’s office.
