Antioch jewelry store closing after 100-plus years
November 20, 2013: For over 100 years (since 1902), there has been a jewelry store at 913 Main St. in downtown Antioch, making it the oldest continuously operating jeweler in Lake County. That era is about to come to a close.
The store was acquired in 1984 by Julian and Susan Persin, who named it “Persin and Persin.” It became known as a store where people could come for fine diamonds and custom designs, or simply to visit with their friends, Julian and Sue.
In February 2010, Sue passed away, and now Julian has decided to close the store forever.
Beginning Thursday, Nov. 21, everything from fine jewelry, Lladro, Waterford, and other giftware, to the displays, showcases furniture and safe will be sold.
After so many years, even Julian was surprised by some of the treasures he found tucked away in his vaults.
