Geneva library place to be this week
Cold, some snow and no school made the Geneva Public Library a popular place for kids this week.
Families coming in for books also found a drop-in craft project where kids could decorate a “read” sign. And Tuesday featured “The Smarty Pants Big Balloon Show,” a vaudeville-style show featuring magic, all-ages comedy, interactive storytelling and Smarty’s award-winning, larger-than-life balloon props.
A full house enjoyed Smarty Tuesday morning as he created balloon animals with his eyes closed, rode his giant balloon motorcycle and ended his 35-minute show with the “balloon barrage” where kids and adults fired balloons into the air in a dizzying spectacle of color.
Children got the chance to get their pictures taken with Smarty after the show, which he also performs at libraries, school science assemblies and private parties. To see more of his work check out his website smartypantsworld.com.
