Great Clips to wear denim, donate money to fight breast cancer

On Friday, Oct. 3 and Saturday, Oct. 4, employees at two Great Clips salons in Sugar Grove and in Campton Hills will join together to help Lee National Denim Day celebrate 19 years of fighting breast cancer.

Great Clips at 472 Route 47 in Sugar Grove and at Campton Square in Campton Hills are gearing up to participate in this grass-roots program which has raised more than $91 million for breast cancer programs by simply asking the nation to put on their jeans and donate $5 or more to the American Cancer Society.

Lee National Denim Day is proud to continue to support the American Cancer Society. Denim Day is committed to improving the everyday lives of those with breast cancer - past, present and future.

Find out how a simple gesture turns into extraordinary support by funding lifesaving screenings in communities nationwide; providing hope and care to those traveling away from home for cancer treatment; and investing in groundbreaking cancer research.

"Lee National Denim Day is easy and fun to do," said Lea Gorman, co-owner of the local Great Clips. "Everyone gets to wears jeans to work in exchange for a donation, and the money helps fight breast cancer - a cause that is very important to many of our employees."

"We are more grateful every year at the number of organizations like Great Clips, who come together across the country and donate to make this grass-roots program a continued success," said Liz Cahill, vice president of marketing communications for Lee Jeans. "This year as we celebrate our 19th anniversary, we'd like to thank all the companies and people across the nation that have participated in Lee National Denim Day and helped us raise more than $91 million in the fight against breast cancer."
