Man dies at Des Plaines gun range

A Chicago man died Wednesday after apparently shooting himself at a Des Plaines gun range, police said.

Des Plaines police responded to Maxon's Shooter's Supplies and Indoor Range just after 1:30 p.m. for a gunshot victim.

Pawel Siniakowicz, 22, of Chicago, was pronounced dead a short time later of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police say no foul play is suspected but won't speculate if the shooting was accidental or deliberate.

"We need to talk to the medical examiner's office and finish up a few interviews with witnesses, so we can't say at this time how it happened," Des Plaines Detective Cmdr. Randy Akin said.
