Wheeling native Haley Reinhart inks new publishing deal
Listen up: If it's been a while since you've heard from singer-songwriter Haley Reinhart, that's about to change.
The "American Idol" alumna and Wheeling native has expanded her publishing deal with ole, the independent rights management company that has been responsible for getting her music exposure on TV shows and films like "Step Up Revolution."
Under the new deal, ole gains worldwide co-publishing rights to Reinhart's catalog and future work. Perhaps the biggest news from the agreement is that ole officials said the company will provide support for the recording of a new EP.
"It's been a marvelous experience working with such a unique company like ole," Reinhart said. "They are very attentive and knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the industry. We've accomplished so much together already. I'm excited to see us bloom into our full potential."
Reinhart finished third on the 10th season of "American Idol" in 2011, gaining notoriety with her jazzy, blues-infused covers. Her debut record was released by Interscope in May 2012 and debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard chart. She was dropped by Interscope that November. Reinhart was the first "Idol" contestant to perform at Lollapalooza in 2012.
In July, Reinhart released the fan-funded video and single "Show Me Your Moves," a funky foray that featured plenty of dancing and her "Idol" duet partner Casey Abrams.
