Gym expansion complete at Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich

Months of anticipation are over for Foglia YMCA members, neighbors, residents and leaders in Lake Zurich and surrounding communities. The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is pleased to announce the gym expansion of the Foglia YMCA is complete.

With a 9,000-square-foot expansion, the new and improved Foglia Y doubles the size of the old Foglia Y by adding a second gymnasium to accommodate the needs of growing membership. The footprint of the existing gym will be doubled so more members and families can take advantage of fitness classes, early childhood development programs, meetings, etc.

The improvements being revealed during the event include a second basketball court, a new climbing wall, and two 1,000-square-foot multipurpose classroom areas.

The improvements will enable the Foglia Y to further expand its sports and open gym programming by:

• increasing group fitness class offerings;

• expanding youth program offerings, including martial arts and dance;

• expanding preschool enrichment offerings;

• offering rental space to host birthday parties and other celebrations.

The Foglia YMCA Grand Reveal offers tours of the second gym, basketball court and climbing wall, a program fair, mini-fitness classes in the new multipurpose rooms, family dodgeball, appetizer sampling from the new Tropical Smoothie Café, open swim, and more.
