Body found in Urbana lake is missing Chicago man

URBANA, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in central Illinois say a body found in a frozen lake in an Urbana park is that of a missing Chicago man.

The Champaign County Coroner's Office said the body of 23-year-old Christian Zamora was found in Crystal Lake on Friday. No autopsy is scheduled.

According to The News-Gazette (http://bit.ly/17YGUSP ), Zamora was a recent University of Illinois graduate. He was reported missing on New Year's Eve.

Authorities searched the lake not far from the university campus using a sonar device. They previously searched Crystal Lake in early February.

Zamora's friends say they last saw him walking to a grocery in Champaign on New Year's eve. Surveillance camera footage later showed him near the lake.
