No injuries reported from early morning fire in Elburn
Elburn fire officials said Monday they continue to investigate an early morning fire.
The fire was reported at 12:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of Souders Avenue in the Blackberry Creek subdivision, said Craig Hanson, assistant fire chief of the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District.
He said one person inside was awakened by smoke alarms and able to make it outside of the home before firefighters arrived.
Two dogs and one rabbit were also rescued from the blaze.
The fire caused significant damage to the single-family home, Hanson said, adding the structure was deemed uninhabitable after the blaze was extinguished.
