Harper has six cross country All-Americans

The junior college fall sports season is over, but the student-athletes at Harper College are still being recognized for their successes.

Cross country: If winning a fifth straight men's cross country national championship was not impressive enough, there were individual accolades to go along with last weekend's efforts in the NJCAA Division III meet in Westfield, Mass.

Several members of both the men's and women's cross country teams earned All-America status.

Leading the way for the Hawks men were sophomores Will Troman and Adam Brauer.

Brauer, a Palatine alum, was the only two-time All-American choice on this year's roster.

Sophomore T.J. Paton (Hersey) and freshman Eddie Lamas (Schaumburg) also earned All-America honors for the Hawks.

The Harper women took home the national runner-up trophy for the second straight season and were awarded a pair of All-American selections: Ali Gutt (Schaumburg) and Leslie Rosiles (Rolling Meadows).

Women's soccer: Despite a loss in the Region IV tournament championship game, it was a memorable season for the women's soccer team.

Danielle Reptowski (Schaumburg), Nicole Soderholm (Buffalo Grove) and Kassidy Kushner (Barrington) were named first team all-Region IV.

Harper's Vanessa Salazar and Kristen Serviss earned second team all-Region selections.

All five of those selections earned all-North Central Community College Conference honors as well.

Women's volleyball: The Hawks' women's volleyball team dominated the North Central Community College Conference all-league squad. Of the six places reserved for the N4C first team, Harper filled three of the roster spots with Meghan Chartier (Buffalo Grove), Sarah Berggren (Barrington) and Daniele Sortino (Elk Grove). Setter Katelyn Sommers (Buffalo Grove) was named to the N4C second team.
