Stevenson wins NSC Lake opener
Willie Herenton scored a team-high 18 points to help Stevenson's boys basketball team past host Warren 52-44 on Wednesday in North Suburban Lake play.
Justin Smith had 14 points and Ryuji Aoki finished with 11 for the Patriots (4-1, 1-0).
Branden Ellis paced Warren with 19 points and Jayson Dorsey had 11 as the Blue Devils dropped to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the NSC Lake.
North Chicago 62, Lakes 51: The host Warhawks pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a victory in NSC Prairie action after a game that had seen several lead changes and ties.
Kyle Rohr led all scorers with 18 points for the Eagles.
Grant 65, Round Lake 64: John Kerr's 19 points led four players in double figures, as the Bulldogs pulled out the North Suburban Prairie game.
Grant (3-4, 2-0) also received 14 points from Andy Kaye, 11 from James Mobley and 10 from Ben Kusiak.
Round Lake's Michael Green sank six 3-pointers and led all scorers with 23 points. Brothers Ben and Zach Kuligoski added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Panthers.
