Warm weather delays opening of Rosemont snow hill

Due to unseasonably warm temperatures, Rosemont's two-story snow tubing hill will not open Friday as scheduled, officials said.

An opening date for Polar Peak hasn't yet been announced. Featuring four lanes, the hill is half the height of the one last year, constructed of shipping containers and truss systems. Once it opens, tubing tickets will be available for $3 per run, with discounts available for multiple runs.

A scheduled ice carving competition from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday will go on as planned.

The ice rink in the middle of the village's entertainment district is open for free skating. Skate rentals are available for $8.
